My comments on the third revolution below. Traditional philosophy of science regards science as an abstract structure, specified in abstract linguistic terms. As such it is entirely separated from any activity of the scientist qua human being; one does not consider the psychology of discovery relevant, only the 'problem of induction', one does not consider the decision process for testing theories and choosing among them (which involves all kinds of value judgments, as well as judgments of other kinds), one considers only objective criteria of acceptance and rejection.
